Game Thread #29: Oakland Athletics at Boston Red Sox

In what is a tale of two teams this week, the A's are coming off a red-hot series, in which they absolutely destroyed the Rangers at the plate and in the field, piling run upon run in the three game sweep. Meanwhile, Boston suffered through a doubleheader double-loss, losing both games at home to Tampa Bay yesterday by one run each. Look out; they are probably not pleased.

Happy Friday, and welcome to your customary Friday night drinking thread! Even if your drink of choice is kale-cucumber lemonade since it's exactly 100 degrees outside and I'm at work, we can still have fun splashing around in the game thread, enjoying early summer weather.

The A's will be sending Dan Straily to the mound in tonight's contest, facing off against Clay Buchholz. From MLB.com:

Straily is part of an A's rotation that exited Wednesday with an American League-best 2.85 ERA, despite the club losing Jarrod Parker and A.J. Griffin to Tommy John surgery.

So apparently, Griffin did have TJ surgery. File that under "Wow, we saw that coming, even when it was called elbow surgery".

The A's lineup tonight is Derek/Daric-less, but it is heavy on the Moss and Jaso. Crisp and Cespedes are both in, and Jed Lowrie will get a crack against his former team.

Here are your lineups:
