Good morning, and welcome to Target Field, where the A's will take on the Minnesota Twins again, after a mid-week off-day. The good news is that yesterday's off-day is the only one for eight whole days; the A's take a break next Thursday, but play every day until then, for those of you jonesing for your baseball. I don't feel like the A's have really been able to get much of a rhythm going with the way the schedule has played out so far, but even with two disaster losses, the A's started the first week of the season 4-3. I'm going to go ahead and take that.
For your viewing pleasure today, be sure to see the play of the season so far in Double-A Midland, where Billy Burns scored from second base...on a sacrifice fly. Kid is fast.
Speaking of fast lead-off hitters, Coco Crisp is out of the lineup yet again, and will not return before Friday, after the cortizone shot he had in his left wrist. Sam Fuld will be leading off.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the mound, the A's Jesse Chavez will try to keep the A's rolling against Minnesota. He will be opposed by Phil Hughes.
Here are your lineups:
For the Minnesota Twins:
1. Sam Fuld (L) CF
2. Jed Lowrie (S) SS
3. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B
4. Brandon Moss (L) 1B
5. Yoenis Cespedes (R) LF
6. Alberto Callaspo (S) DH
7. John Jaso (L) C
8. Josh Reddick (L) RF
9. Eric Sogard (L) 2B
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
