Game Thread #28: Oakland Athletics at Texas Rangers

Well, to be honest, I didn't think we'd be here. Exactly one week after a disastrous series that saw the A's swept by the Rangers at home, the A's are one win away from returning the favor in Arlington. The A's won both games in commanding fashion, and send Jesse Chavez to the mound tonight, looking for the clean sweep.

Well, this is more like it! After a lackluster week just a week ago, where the A's were 2-5 against the teams from Texas, they have rebounded nicely, in Arlington of all places, to take the first two games of this series. Two out of three against your division rivals is a win for any team, but I think we're all eying a possible sweep.

Jesse Chavez, coming off a down start against Houston last week, only finishing five innings of work, will take the mound, facing off against Texas' Robbie Ross, who is making just his sixth start of his career and first against Oakland (he has been in the bullpen previously). He has also pitched well.

Here are your lineups, and ours is interesting. It's nice to see Cespedes back in the middle, isn't it? And a rare 1/2 combo of Crisp/Gentry for some early speed, and my boy Derek in there, after a sizzling game last night. Callaspo will be playing first base.
