It's baseball time! Today's game is sponsored by the letters "D" and "L," as Yoenis Cespedes is expected to miss a few games with a hamstring pull and A.J. Griffin is probably going to get Tommy John Surgery on his elbow. The latter doesn't affect anything because Griffin has already been replaced on the roster, and the former shouldn't matter because we're playing the Astros and I think a lineup full of relief pitchers would still put up five runs.
Today's game features a pitching match-up of Jesse Chavez and Brad Peacock. These two squared off last week, and Chavez notched the victory. He went six innings and allowed one run, with four hits, three walks and six strikeouts. Peacock went five and allowed two runs on five hits, three walks and four strikeouts. It was Peacock's first start of the season, since the Astros insisted on letting Lucas Harrell lose a few early-season games for what I assume was some weird sense of sentimental nostalgia. "Let's just lose by a ton of runs a few times this month, just for old time's sake." Look for Peacock to be sharper than he was last week, with that first start under his belt.
With Cespedes out, Moss moves to left and Barton starts at first. Otherwise, this is the standard "vs RHP" lineup.
Let's Go Oak-Land!
