This is not a drill. This is a real Game Thread for a real, regular-season game. It was raining, and then it was raining some more, and now it has stopped. The sun is shining through my window onto my keyboard as I type this. Ouch, now it's shining in my eyes. Hold on a sec...
OK, I can see again. Here is the official weather report from Oakland:
It's a little blue, a little cloud. It's Sonny Gray out, perfect opening night weather.

Sounds like we're playing baseball today. Or, watching baseball. The professionals are doing the playing.
We've spent the last six months talking about the A's with hair-splitting attention to detail, so I'm not going to pretend to preview things here. You either know what's going on with the team, or you're not going to figure it out before first pitch. All you need to know is that we're playing the Cleveland Indians, and Sonny Gray is starting. For the rest, here is a team preview, another team preview, a cool FanPost about why the A's will win, and a Q&A with SB Nation's Indians blog.
Here are today's lineups (sorry for poor formatting; Baseball Press changed their format and is now unusable, so we'll come up with a better system):
Indians 1. CF Nyjer Morgan SP: Justin Masterson | Athletics 1. CF Coco Crisp SP: Sonny Gray |
Let's Go Oakland!
