Spring Training Game Threads: A's vs. Cubs, Mariners

Spring training really has gone on for long enough, but there's still another week's worth of going through the motions before the A's and Indians play their first innings of real baseball on March 31. Today, Oakland splits up to play two of those meaningless, bordering-on-tedious games as Cactus League play begins to wind down.

One is against the Cubs at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, the third-to-last A's game at that venue before the A's travel back to the Bay Area late in the week, and before they move to a newly renovated Hohokam Stadium in Mesa next year. Jesse Chavez gets the start in that one, a contest in which the A's are sporting a lineup that looks very MLB-ish, the fact that Nate Freiman is DHing against a righty excepted:

The rest of the A's will head west to Peoria to take on the Mariners. Josh Lindblom, who's expected to start the season in Sacramento, will take the hill for Oakland. That lineup also looks respectable, even though the likes of Jake Elmore and Billy Burns won't be anywhere near the Opening Day roster this year:

First pitch for both games is at 1:05, and the A's-Cubs game is available on MLB.TV while the A's-Mariners matchup is radio-only. Enjoy!
