Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane expects the club "to make at least one more move in [the] next day or two," tweets Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, reporting from the 2014 Major League Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego.
Beane confirms #Athletics targeting young shortstops in deals.

Beane suggests several things are in the works. Sounds like something else could get done here tonight or tomorrow.

One of those shortstop targets appears to be Marcus Semien of the Chicago White Sox, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, also in San Diego.
Sources: If the White Sox do deal for Jeff Samardzija, return would be Marcus Semien and prospects. A's would slot Semien in at shortstop.

White Sox reticent to give up high-level prospects because Samardzija under contract for only one year. Anderson, Montas may not be in play.

That's shortstop Tim Anderson and right-handed pitcher Francellis Montas, the #2 and #5 prospects in the 2015 Baseball America prospect list, respectively.
That Beane is targeting "shortstops," plural, indicates there may be some bidding going on for Samardzija's services.
Billy Beane dispelled this morning's rumor that they were interesting in Korean shortstop Jung-ho Kang:
Beane says a report this morning was inaccurate, the #Athletics are not interested in Korean SS Kang.
