Athletics trade rumors: Brandon Moss deal with Indians on "verge" of completion

The Cleveland Indians are on the verge of completing a deal involving Oakland Athletics first baseman-outfielder Brandon Moss, sources tell ESPN's Buster Olney, reporting from the 2014 Major League Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego.

Sources: Oakland's talks with the Indians regarding Brandon Moss have been revived, and the two sides are on the verge of a deal.

To date, Indians and A's have been talking about a 1-for-1 deal for Moss. Likelihood remains that the prospect isn't on CLE's 40-man roster.

• "going to trade" (to somebody) to
• the Indians be one of a group of teams interested in Moss to
• the Indians "guardedly optimistic" they will complete a trade to
• specific players from the Indians being named as targets to
• ending negotiations Friday, only to revive them today.
