The Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics have not come to an agreement regarding A's outfielder-first baseman Brandon Moss. Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer wrote on Thursday, "If the trade goes through, it is expected to be announced Friday."
It's Friday. There's nothing like a good cliffhanger to start off the day.
The two latest reports on Brandon Moss come from CSN California's Joe Stiglich and the Oakland Tribune's John Hickey. Stiglich last night added another potential middle infielder from the Cleveland Indians to the list of names, Erik Gonzalez. Gonzalez, 23, split time between Single-A and Double-A in 2014. Stiglich's report did not assert he had his own sources reporting this name as being in the discussions, and I have not been able to find original sourcing for that report.
Today, both John Hickey and Stiglich report that there still hasn't been agreement yet as of about 11:30 am Pacific Time Friday:
I'm hearing the players haven't all been agreed upon yet in a Brandon Moss-to-Cleveland deal. #Athletics #Indians

#Athletics, #Indians still have not yet been able to agree on all the particulars that would go into A's trade of OF/1B Brandon Moss.

Which is not terribly surprising, because if there had been agreement I think we would call that report a "trade."
The teams appear to want to either have a deal in place or walk away and get ready for next week's Winter Meetings by today:
