Hey Athletics Nation!
I hope you were able to enjoy the holiday festivities with family and friends! Today was the last appearance for Alex on my show for 2014 and while we had something else entirely planned we wound up saying goodbye to another Oakland A's era.
The 2012-2014 Oakland A's sure were memorable weren't they?
I really enjoyed that last month of the 2012 season. No one gave the Athletics a chance in hell of winning a wildcard let alone a division. Yet that's just what they did didn't they?
On the show I said six straight wins over Texas but in reality it was three straight wins at home over the Seattle Mariners followed by the home sweep of the Texas Rangers to give the Oakland A's the American League West flag.
That was something wasn't it?
There are just a handful of A's from that 2012 team currently on the roster. Who knows who will be the next one Billy Beane decides to trade away. There will be plenty of time this winter for us to meet the new A's.....we just wanted to talk about that amazing collection of talented players, some of their biggest plays and say a proper goodbye to this last era before we begin talking about this new one.
We hope you enjoy the segment. If you don't want to listen to the other segments Alex begins at about the 43 minute mark. If anyone is interested prior to Alex we talk NHL hockey, Fantasy Football and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball.
Please feel free to share your memories of the 2012-2014 Oakland Athletics in the comments section. I'll leave the player below or you can download the show from my site.
Thanks as always for listening and Happy New Year to each and every one of you!
