Should the Athletics Re-Sign Jon Lester?

I tell anyone and everyone who will listen that this community is one of the best and most knowledgeable baseball fans around. Alex made his usual weekly appearance on my show and answered some listener’s questions such as;

Is it time for the Athletics to replace Manager Bob Melvin?

Believe it or not but this question was asked of me more this week than any other. I’m not sure if these folks are A’s fans or not but the question is one that is worthy of an answer.

No. The Oakland Athletics should not be looking to replace Bob Melvin now or anytime soon. In my opinion what happened last season wasn’t his fault and I think you will enjoy the answer Alex gave.

We also talked about shortstops and whether or not the A’s should pursue soon to be free agent Hanley Ramirez of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Alex and I had a great discussion about the possibilities including bringing Jed Lowrie back.
