The Kansas City Royals won yet another extra-innings thriller last night to take game 1 of the American League Championship Series, this time against the Baltimore Orioles on the road. Game 2 of the ALCS starts at 1:00 PM Pacific Time on TBS. The Royals will pitch Yordano Ventura and the Orioles will send Bud Norris to the hill.
At 5:00 PM Pacific Time, the National League Championship Series begins at Busch Stadium with the San Francisco Giants facing the St. Louis Cardinals. Madison Bumgarner will face Adam Wainwright. You have two options for watching the game. The main telecast featuring Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds, and Tom Verducci will be on Fox. On Fox Sports 1, however, Kevin Burkhardt will host "NLCS on FOX Sports 1 powered by JABO." JABO is "Just a Bit Outside," FOX Sports' baseball microsite. According to Rob Neyer, the show
will focus on statistics, sabermetrics, and graphics, with plenty of debate and conversation while the action plays out on the field. We'll utilize a double-box format, with the live game action in one box, and our studio hosts and guests in another, along with a constant flow of graphics.
It will be an interesting experimental alternative to those who do not find the analysis offered by Buck, Reynolds, and Verducci particularly appealing.
