American League Championship Series Game 1 open thread: Kansas City Royals at Baltimore Orioles

After two straight days of no Major League Baseball, our long national nightmare is finally over. The American League Championship Series gets underway at 5:07 PM Pacific Time, with the Royals facing the Orioles at Camden Yards. The game is televised on TBS.

For the Royals, James Shields starts Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the Baltimore Orioles. The O's start Chris Tillman.

The weather forecast has improved in recent hours, with it very likely that the game will end in the rain, but should not be in danger of postponement. Keep in mind that if there is a delay, The Powers That Be will insist on a nine-inning game, and have allowed for suspensions of games that would ordinarily be declared official in the event of weather in the late innings.
