Good evening and welcome to another edition of Oakland A's baseball! So, last week was pretty good, eh?
A 5-1 road trip including a sweep of the fading Rangers has the A's sitting pretty atop the AL West. The magic number for the A's to clinch the division stands at 8.
If the A's continue their blistering hot level of play, it's possible that the A's could clinch during this final homestand and treat the fans. They'll have to start by beating up on the Angels, which the A's have done well with at home this season. However, the Angels are actually playing better lately, going 10-5 in their last 15 games.
Also watch for the added Callaspo vs. Green factor for instant trade winner/loser analysis. SSS FTW.
Jarrod Parker is apparently over his stomach illness and will be taking the mound today, with Sonny Gray and co. pushed back a day. He will face C.J. Wilson, whose douchiness in my opinion lessened a little bit this year as he had some complimentary things to say about the A's after Jon Heyman's #shame tweet. Although let's not forget his quote that will forever make him a public enemy in the O DOT CO: "The fans suck." I hope you're enjoying your quiet as a mouse 30,000 person crowds in Anaheim!
It's funny, I thought the magic of 2012 could not be topped, but now it's looking like just the first few chapters of a fairy tale story yet to be written. I can't wait to see how it unfolds.
LET'S GO OAKLAND!!!!
