Good morning, Athletics Nation! Don't look now, but the sky might be falling. The starting pitching is an absolute mess, with veterans getting injured and youngsters doing all kinds of young pitcher things (mostly the bad kinds). But wait! Help has arrived, in the form of Sonny Gray! And more reinforcements are on the way, with Brett Anderson a possibility for Tuesday and Bartolo Colon eligible to be activated on Thursday. There is still reason for hope.
On today's Phil Naessens Show, we discuss the positives and negatives in the stating rotation, as well as the dire catching situation and the upcoming schedules of the A's and Rangers. Listen to the show right here by using the media player embedded below; my segment starts at 26:15 and goes for about 14 minutes. (Note: This was recorded Wednesday night, long before the A's re-acquired Kurt Suzuki.)
