On this day a year ago, the A's had an off-day in Kansas City after dropping two of three to the White Sox. In that one win over Chicago, Brandon Inge popped his shoulder and led the team to a win regardless. Inge was then placed on the DL, and a year ago today, Josh Donaldson returned to the major leagues.

Today's starting lineup is out, with Coco Crisp still out. Yoenis Cespedes will be your designated hitter, with Chris Young leading off and playing in center. Seth Smith will patrol left field, and he's hitting .263 as an outfielder but only .234 as a DH this season. Last year, he hit .253 in the outfield and .227 as a DH.
