Game Thread #91: A's at Pittsburgh (1)

Hullo, everyone! I'm baseballgirl's wacky sidekick and I'm here to tell you about today's game between your Oakland A's and...their Pittsburgh Pirates.

Lumberjack!!!!
Lumberjack!!!!

UPDATE, 5:15pm: The game is scheduled to begin at 5:45pm PDT. Or if you're on Pittsburgh time, we believe that is "May, 1976". -Nico
UPDATE, 4:04pm: The start of the game is being delayed by a "threat of rain" delay. Apparently, beeeeg storm el grande shows up on the radar to the southwest of PNC Park. -Nico

Yesterday, largely on the wings of half-angel, half-CFer Coco Crisp, whose horizontal Supermanesque dive saved the day, the A's hung on to nip the Pirates 2-1. Tonight, Oakland turns to Dan Straily who is fresh off of a 7-inning, 1-hit gem against the Chicago Cubs. Straily is opposed by 22-year old rookie RHP Gerrit Cole, who is dating Brandon Crawford's sister -- assuming she is not concealing her identity following Crawford's unfortunate error in the 16th inning earlier this morning.

Interesting to see Jed Lowrie in the cleanup spot tonight with Brandon Moss batting 7th. Also interesting to see the red-hot Josh Reddick in the #2 spot for the first time, giving the A's back-to-back Joshes, three J's in a row and 4 out of 5. This is truly ground-breaking, important, and exciting.
