Game Thread #88: Oakland Athletics at Kansas City Royals

The A's will try to take the series from the Royals in this morning's contest, but standing in their way is long-time nemesis, Ervin Santana, who not only has pitched well historically against the Athletics, but he has pitched at least six innings in all of his sixteen starts this season. The A's will try to change that statistic.

The A's, who have won a lot of games so far this season, will try to beat one of their pitching foes today in the person of Ervin Santana, who has not only pitched well against the A's, but against the entire league so far this season. Matching up against Santana on the other side of the mound will be Jarrod Parker, who was pushed back from his last start due to a hamstring cramp. He'll need to be at the top of his game today to earn the win.

The A's will sit Lowrie today and start both Rosales and Sogard, which should really help the A's offense against Santana. Cespedes is back in his customary #3 spot, and Jaso will be doing the catching.
