Holy cow, peeps -- it's the halfway point! Welcome to game #81, as the A's finish up the season's first half against the team which has held the best record in baseball most of the first half: The St. Louis Cardinals. The A's enter play today 7-2 in interleague play, coming off a 2-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds.
First half sensation Bartolo Colon takes his 10-2 record to the mound tonight, continuing a bid to make -- and potentially even start -- the All-Star team. Colon is undefeated since ringing in his 5th decade of portly existence. On the mound for the Cardinals tonight: Their highly touted rookie RHP Shelby Miller, who takes an 8-5 record and a 2.35 ERA into tonight's game.
Meanwhile, the "can Stephen Vogt actually get a major league hit?" watch continues...
