Happy St. Paddy's Day, Athletics Nation! And yes, that is Paddy, not Patty; "Paddy" is short for Patrick, and "Patty" is short for Patricia or is a burger. Sources include one of my bosses, who is from Ireland, as well as my literal Uncle Paddy from England. Also, this website.
St. Paddy's is a natural holiday for A's fans, because (in America, at least) it involves wearing lots of green. Hey, whaddya know, all of my A's apparel happens to be green - how convenient! I guess that's how Giants fans feel around Halloween. (Just kidding, Giants fans don't have feelings.)
St. Paddy's is also a natural holiday for a podcast, because reading becomes quite a difficult task for many individuals on this particular day. So, without further ado, here is a link to my segment on last Friday's Phil Naessens Show podcast:
That link takes you straight to a player which will automatically begin playing the show. My segment begins at about 28:00 (you can skip ahead to it if you'd like), and goes for 12 minutes. We talk about Yoenis Cespedes and his reunion with his family, as well as Hiro Nakajima and Oakland's middle infield options.
You can also visit Phil's website here. Thanks for listening; I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to leave any feedback, or your own thoughts and opinions on the topics we covered, in the comments below.
