The A's have lost 3 of their last 4 games due to walk-off fashion, but nonetheless, they will always put up a good fight. With the loss to the Rangers last night, the A's are now 5 games behind them with 8 games left to play including this one. Looking to gain some momentum as the season starts to dwindle, the A's look to Tommy Milone to try and contain the always potent Texas lineup. Milone is coming off a toughstart where he struggled through 4.2 innings against the Tigers, giving up 3 earned runs on 9 hits, but received a no decision as the A's won the game 12 - 4.
Originally set to start the game for Texas was rookie Yu Darvish, but he was sidelined due to neck stiffness. Scott Feldman will try to take his place. Feldman is 6 - 11 with a 5.19 earned run average in 20 starts and 7 relief appearences, so the if the A's NEED to take advantage of this game. That's not to say that the game will just be given to us, because you can never have a stress-free game when you're in Arlington.
As long as the A's can score some runs throughout the whole game, have a solid pitching performance from Milone, play any kind of good defense, and the bullpen can keep a lead, I don't care how stressful or long this game is. With the A's only two games ahead of the Angels, I'll take any kind of win.
