In case you haven't checked it out already, ahhall wrote a great article recapping the busy week that you should read to catch up on what is happening around the green and gold. (Here's the link)

Currently on a two-game winning streak, the A's head into Florida to face the Tampa Bay Rays. Both teams, as I write this, are currently the holders of the first and second wild cards, so this match-up could potentially be a playoff-preview.

With the unfortunate news on Bartolo Colon coming yesterday, Tyson Ross was recalled from the Rivercats to make today's start against the Rays. Starting for the Rays is Alex Cobb, who is coming off of his worst outing of the years= as he gave up 12 hits, 8 earned runs, 2 home runs, and struck out only one batter as he was lifted from the game after 2.2 innings. The A's are going to have to take advantage of this three-game series as we get closer and closer to September and the playoff races get tighter.

Lineups:

A's

Rays

Today's lineup is similar to yesterday, as Pennington is getting the start at second base again. Hopefully the A's can manufacture some runs, get a solid start from Tyson Ross, and most importantly............ try to field a baseball cleanly.
