With a 35 - 38 record, the A's are set to start their 7-game road trip in Safeco Field against the Seattle Mariners as they look to get back to a .500. Even though the A's ended up losing the series against th Giants this past weeked, Derek Norris' three-run walk-off HR really gave the A's some momentum as they ended Interleague play with a 9 - 6 record and look to sustain their success against the American League.
Lefty Tommy Milone (7-5) gets the start tonight and he will be opposed by Erasmo Ramirez (0-1) of the Mariners who is making his 3rd start of his career. So far Ramirez has compiled a 9.00 ERA as a starter and a 2.45 ERA in relief, but splits haven't been in the favor of our starter, Tommy Milone either. As most people here already know, Tommy Milone has been dominant at home and very different when it comes to pitching on the road. I'm not saying anything new here, but on the road, Milone's ERA stands at 7.42. Wow!
Home/road splits aside, hopefully Milone can give a quality outing and give this Oakland offense a chance to get closer to .500!
