Well hullo, everybody. Sans Cespedes, the 16-15 A's try to stay over .500 against a Detroit Tigers team that has also hovered at .500 but less expectedly so. Bartolo Colon gets the ball for Oakland tonight against the hard throwing young right-hander, Max Scherzerererer.
So far so bad for Scherzer, with a 1-3 record, 6.32 ERA, 42 hits and 22 ER in just 31.1 IP -- but the arm is there, as evidenced by his 36 Ks. Tonight's "fun fact": In 10.2 IP against the A's (2 starts), Scherzer has struck out 22.
Tonight's starting lineups are below. Switch Josh Reddick and Seth Smith and it actually makes some sense. However, the "top 3 all with OBPs .315 or below" is kind of cool too. And by "cool," I mean "Bleargh!!!!!!"
