Open Thread: Game 3 - Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners

New, comments

Good evening, and welcome to an exciting night of A's baseball! Unlike the last one, where we were probably all barely conscious on the couch, this one is in Prime Time! Not that anyone, even me, remembers that there were two games played already; I almost started this game thread with "1". The front page writers might as well just copy and paste "Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners" because it seems like that's all we'll play for the first several weeks of the season. Two games to start last week; the game today and tomorrow, and the following weekend as well.

However, for the first time in a long time, the A's will not face the dominating Felix Hernandez tonight, although Jason Vargas abused the A's last week; throwing into the seventh, allowing two hits and one run. Brandon McCarthy sparkled in his debut, but didn't get a win to show for it. He'll try to change that tonight.
