Today the A's take on the Boston Red Sox in the first game of a four-game series at Fenway Park. Tommy Milone is set to take the mound for the A's and will face Clay Buchholz. Tommy MIlone has been off to a hot start with a 3W - 1L and a 2.00 ERA in 4 starts with Oakland while opposing pitcher Clay Buchholz has been pretty bad with a 2W - 1L record, yet he's sporting an ERA of 8.87! This just shows you how useless the win/loss record is when evaluating a pitcher.
Nothing has changed since the season began, the A's are still averaging less than 3 runs per game and the pitching has continued to be very effective in going deep into games and keeping the team at a decent record of 11 W -12 L. Hopefully Milone will be able to maintain the Red Sox offense', who have scored the second most runs in baseball with 116(Rangers in first with 120) and the A's can get the offense going to get us back to .500!
Lineups: Brandon Inge will get his first start at third today, as Luke Hughes has been designated for assignment. Daric Barton is getting the start at first base and former A Ryan Sweeney is not in the Red Sox lineup today as he will be on the bench against Left Hander Tommy MIlone.
