Well, we say goodbye to Arizona today; the next time we see or hear the A's play, it will be in Japan. The A's have finalized the 30-man roster for the road trip, and ready or not; they are leaving. When they return to the States, they could be either in first or last place in the West to start the young season. In less than a week, we will find out if the A's Spring Training success can translate over to the real season; and the imposing figure of Felix Hernandez.
According to Jane Lee, Scott Sizemore had successful surgery this morning; he will likely be back at the start of Spring next season, Melvin hasn't yet picked a starting third or first baseman (really, though? My money is on Allen.), and Coco Crisp has been scratched from this lineup to play in the minor league game.
Today, the A's take on the Kansas City Royals.
The new lineup:
Weeks (2B)
Barton (DH)
Pennington (SS)
Smith (RF)Crisp (LF) Gomes will replace in (LF)
Allen (1B)
Cowgill (CF)
Sogard (3B)
Recker (C)
Graham Godfrey will start the game.
The next time; it counts! LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
