Good afternoon, and welcome to a gorgeous day of A's baseball! Well, I'm assuming it's gorgeous in Oakland. It usually is when it's disgusting in Los Angeles. Seriously, summer? It's up over 100 degrees right now, and it was on the shady side of 90 last night at midnight. I feel like no one likes that. I also feel like I have no right to complain, since approximately 98% of the time, Southern California weather is utterly perfect. So I won't complain about the weather.
On the other hand, I make no such promises about the Oakland Athletics. The A's take the field today, trying to avoid a sweep from the mighty Royals. Okay, I can't even type that with a straight face. What? The Royals are one of the few teams with a record worse than the A's themselves, and they still make us look bad? Sigh.
Anyway, Moose Costco, or Moscoso, if you prefer, will take the mound against the Royals and Bruce Chen.
The A's will lineup like this:
On a completely unrelated note, is there a better "baseball-y" name than Michael Taylor? "Now batting: Michael Taylor". Right out of Major League. You know, the team at the end, not the beginning of the season hijinks that I feel we've been living all year.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
