Game Thread: M's @ A's Game 140

The Mariners and Athletics square off today at the Coliseum. Trevor Cahill looks to turn things around against an offense willing to assist pitchers in need as the A's look to sweep the M's and make it four in a row. Blake Beaven takes the hill for the Mariners.

In honor of Nico thinking Trevor Cahill was taking the mound yesterday, I present his intro from yesterday slightly amended.

"Oh, Trevor. Remember when no one could agree about why you were awesome or precisely how awesome you were? Now, ever since you started the season 6-0 your major league leading 13 losses have helped to underscore the common ground on which we can all agree: Cahill has been not so good recently. Not so good at all.

Cahill draws an opponent today in Blake Beaven but with a win today the A's can sweep a series from Seattle...for the first time this year. Yesterday's 3-0 win marked the first game on the bench after making his MLB debut of Michael Taylor, who promptly made an error on the first play of the game before going 0 for 3 with a BB. He'll give it another whirl perhaps in a pinch-hitting role, but is not in today's lineup, which come courtesy of Baseball Press, who secured them from...well, who really knows?"

Enjoy this afternoon's ballgame from home sweep home!
