Sporting the major leagues' worst road record, the A's try to break a 4-game losing streak behind the tall and lean twitmeister, Brandon McCarthy. McCarthy and I have something in common, as the A's play this season is giving me a stress reaction.
McCarthy is opposed by some corn. Specifically, RHP Alex Cobb (3-1, 2.79), whose nickname might be "The Colonel". Being a rookie, Cobb will handled carefully, presumably a lot like this:
Tonight's starting lineups, courtesy of Baseball Press, do not feature Brandon Allen. ;-( Then again, how could you pass up the chance to play Adam Rosales at 1B against a RHP?
Also, think good thoughts for Colorado Rockies pitcher Juan Nicasio who suffered a broken neck (C-1 vertebra) after being hit by a line drive off Ian Desmond's bat in yesterday's Rockies-Nationals game.
