Open Thread: Game 126 - A's vs. Blue Jays

It's not quite as bad as missing your own funeral, which I also plan to do (I plan to double-book a really important hair appointment that I just don't want to reschedule), but I will confess it feels pretty lame to be home missing AN Day. Such is the life of the hernia recovery blogfather-patient-thingy, but, with the silver lining that I can provide these game threads for you tonight! So sit back, relax with some Percocet and Aleve (what, we're not all doing it?), and enjoy. gigglingone has promised me a Brandon Allen grand slam tonight.

Meanwhile, Gio Gonzalez' recent performances have only given us indigestion. He'll try to get back on track against the RHP Henderson Alvarez, who made his debut against the A's in Toronto on August 10th (5 IP, 8 hits, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K).

For the second time in a week Eric Sogard gets a start at 3B, suggesting that perhaps Sizemore's every day job could be morphing into an occasional Sizemore-Sogard platoon. Willingham, leading the team with 21 HRs, gets the day off. Here are the full lineups, courtesy of Baseball Press, who got them courtesy of who knows?
