The third game of a four game series versus the Texas Rangers occurs tonight. Brandon McCarthy's pitching for the A's, while Colby Lewis goes for the Rangers.
This is McCarthy's second start since coming off the DL. He lost 2-1 on July 4th, going 6 2/3 against the Mariners, allowing two runs on four hits while walking two and striking out five. McCarthy's just 1-5 this season.
He gets a chance at his old team, having played with the Rangers from 2007 to 2009.
This whole business is just depressing, but I'll be here at 5:05 to run a game thread for you, A's fans. Only because we're in this together and apparently God wishes us all to suffer. Come see if the A's can manage a split before the All-Star Break and climb out of the 10 game back pit they've created!
Also, Derek Jeter, Derek Jeter, Derek Jeter.
