Gillette Fan Confidence Poll, Week 5

Another week, another poll. Last week, the fan confidence poll took a downturn, as the A's fell victim to the Angels, losing two of three games and only scoring five runs in all three combined. This week? I'm expecting the new poll to jump sharply. Why? The A's just won a series for the first time in two weeks, and it came against the division rival first place Texas Rangers. On top of that, the series clinching last game came in grand fashion, with a mammoth home run to right field from the bat of Hideki Matsui. Nothing spurs fan confidence like a series win with a walkoff.

The A's are now above .500 for the first time since April 19th, and even more importantly, they're a game within first place for the first time since opening day. Things could be looking up, folks.

Go vote in the poll on the left sidebar of the main page, and we'll be back with another wrapup next week.
