Trevor Cahill - OAK |
According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, the Athletics and Trevor Cahill have reached agreement on a multi-year contract, pending a physical. |
Sometimes it seems like heartbreak is the lifeblood of being an A’s fan. Well, that, and excellent pitching and awful offense. After yesterday’s 2-1 loss to the Twins despite Anderson’s excellent complete game, the A’s have fallen to 2-5, and desperately need some wins in order to keep pace with the undefeated Rangers. Today Gio Gonzalez takes on Nick Blackburn at 6PM tonight.
Pre-Game Discussion Question: What should be done about the A’s 3rd Base situation? Kevin Kouzmanoff is, as we’ve all observed, doing rather horribly thus far into the season. He is sporting a wOBA of .164 this season, and has committed 4 errors already despite defense being his forte.
Should the A’s bench Kouzmanoff and play Andy LaRoche? Or should they try to trade for a star 3B, if one can be found this early in the season, at great cost?
At least we’re not in the situation the Rays are in, right?
