Open Thread: Game 24 (Oakland Athletics at Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)

After last night's shellacking, the A's try to get up off of the floor tonight in Anaheim. Unfortunately, with Jered Weaver yesterday and Dan Haren tomorrow, tonight's game may be the only chance Oakland has at avoiding a sweep.

Fortunately, the A's are putting one of their best feet forward with Brandon McCarthy (1-1, 2.10 ERA). McCarthy was a victim of a complete game loss last time out, as he lost a duel with reigning AL Cy Young winner Felix Hernandez. Opposing McCarthy is top Angels prospect Tyler Chatwood. He's a 21-year-old making his fourth career start, who has a good fastball, great curve, and generates lots of groundballs. So far in the majors, however, he's walked more than he's struck out, so hopefully the patient A's can use that against him.

First pitch is at 7:05.
