Hold onto your hats, everybody! Because it's BACK TO BACK TO BACK TO BACK baseball today, starting at 11AM! All four match-ups will continue today, and with three teams on the brink of elimination, it should be good entertainment.
Here is today's lineup:
11:00 AM - Texas Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Rays (Harrison vs. Hellickson)
The Rays are in a must-win situation at home in today's game as they face elimination; Texas leads the series 2-1 after last night's dramatic win. You have to hand it to Texas; after being destroyed in Game 1, they have bounced back in fine fashion.
Here's what today's lineup will look like:
UPDATE: Tampa Bay fought bravely to the very last out, even cutting the 9th inning deficit to just one single run, but were unable to counter Beltre's THREE homerun day; the difference in the game in every way. The Rays opened the series with a statement in the first game, but weren't able to muster any of their September magic in October. The ninth inning featured a one-out walk and an RBI single, but the Rays just couldn't tie the game. So Texas advances to the ALCS for the second straight year and awaits the winner of the Yankees/Tigers series. Their game four will be played tonight. The Tigers lead the series 2-1.
2:00 PM - Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals (Hamels vs. Garcia)
This is the one non-elimination game, as St. Louis stormed back against the Phillies in Game 2 to tie the series as it goes back to St. Louis.
And your lineups:
5:30 PM - New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers (Burnett vs. Porcello)
Believe it or not, the Yankees themselves face elimination in today's game, as the promise of "This Series Won't Get Back to New York" from Papa Grande looms large over the Yankees in tonight's game. The Tigers took the series lead with a victory in last night's see-saw game, and only tonight will tell if there will be a game five. It is on the shoulders of A.J. Burnett.
6:30 PM - Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona D-backs (Marcum vs. Collmenter)
After a heartbreaking meltdown in a tie game on Sunday, the D-backs will try to rally from a 2-0 deficit to at least get a win out of the series tonight, and live to play another day. They will have the home crowd on their side tonight, but it is a steep uphill battle.
LET'S PLAY FOUR!
More threads, and more lineups will be available as we continue our day.
