The Texas Rangers are your 2011 American League Champions. How awful is that to have to say?
Yesterday the Rangers obliterated the Tigers and what had been a pretty evenly played series quickly turned into a joke of a final game with the Rangers winning 15-5 led by their juggernaut of an offense with perhaps the playoffs' best seventh hitter of all time in Nelson Cruz.
Tonight the Cardinals and Brew Crew square off in Milwaukee to play Game Six of the NLCS with the Cardinals a win away from clinching their eighteenth National League Championship. On the mound for the Cards is Edwin Jackson, though if the rest of the series is any indication look for Tony LaRussa to extensively use his bullpen, who will face Shaun Marcum for the Brewers who has struggled in the postseason.
The 107th World Series will begin next Wednesday in the NL Winner's hometown, here's hoping that it is Milwaukee!
