"Wait...Jason Kendall's really batting second? Oh, this will be fun."

Not to get your hopes up, but...could it be? After three complete game efforts from our starting pitchers in a row, the A's look to make it four.

Vin Mazzaro (6-3, 4.04 ERA) is the lucky pitcher who gets to live up to the highest of high standards. Unfortunately, his previous career high for innings is only 7.2 (July 18, 2010) where he threw 107 pitches. Either way, I'd happily settle for a win, and being able to face the Royals will certainly help with that. Royals starter Kyle Davies (5-6, 5.48 ERA) isn't exactly the highest-caliber pitcher to take the mound in Oakland, with a 5+ ERA and FIP this year and last.

First pitch is at 7:05.
