Open Thread: Game 118 (Toronto Blue Jays at Oakland Athletics)

Buckle up.

On the heels of this fantastic article from Alex Eisenberg on The Hardball Times, detailing Brandon Morrow's recent tweaks and changes to his delivery in an effort to find consistency, we get to face some guy who threw a one-hitter in St. Petersburg last week with seventeen strikeouts.

So what's he going to do as an encore?

Brandon Morrow (9-6, 4.45 ERA) is striking out more than ten and a half batters for every nine innings pitched, and I have significant reason to believe that his league-leading strikeout numbers will go up after tonight. The A's offense is...scuffling, to put it lightly, so we'll need some nice breaks to take this one.

The A's counter with Dallas Braden (7-8, 3.56 ERA), who spun a one-run complete game against Seattle last time out. Toronto, unfortunately, is far more difficult than the Mariners' offense, so he'll need to be very sharp to compete against Morrow.

First pitch is at 7:05.
