Open Thread: Game 58 - A's vs. Twins

So the good news is that the Twins have opted for a starting lineup in which they are leading off with Justine Lessneau, a crippled ballerina whose 83rd birthday has been tainted by an onset of severe gout. The bad news is that Bob Geren has ordered an intentional walk, hoping to set up an early double-play.

The A's have lost 4 out of their last 5, and it takes little imagination to see how the A's could have won all 5 of those games. 5 wins in a row against Boston and Minnesota, and a 33-24 record, would look quite sweet compared to reality: 29-28 and staring up from 3rd place.

The best time to turn things around? It's always today. Gio Gonzalez against Nick Blackburn: The last time those two squared off at the Coliseum, the A's came back from a 12-2 deficit to win 14-13.

UPDATE: Bob Geren tried to kill AN!!!!! The way the Gio and the A's looked in the top of the 1st, I can tell you right now the A's will win this game.
