Open Thread: Game 72 - A's vs. Reds

Well, Happy Monday, AN! I have missed this site so much! After going 1-4 on our recent roadtrip, I was beginning to wonder if the A's would win another game. But they did win yesterday, even in the brutal 100+ temperatures. And if you haven't been to Busch, you really should go. We had a fine time, and I have pictures that I'll put up on Wednesday.

In SB Nation news, we are throwing two parties that I think AN will be interested in; on Tuesday the 29th, there will be a party at the Capitol Grill in Los Angeles; on Thursday the 1st, there will be a party at the Public House in San Francisco. I will be at both, and you all need to come keep me company! More information will be announced this week.

Trevor Cahill was all but brilliant in his start yesterday; retiring everyone except my arch-nemesis, Matt Holliday {censored by Nico}. Gio Gonzalez will take a crack at the Reds in his start tonight; the Reds are struggling almost as much as the A's themselves are right now.

The Reds will pitch Mike Leake tonight, who has been fantastic this season, so it stands to reason that he'll be awesome against the A's.

LET'S GO OAK-LAND!

Hi folks -- Nico here, inserting the lineups for the busy-bee that is baseballgirl. Against a RHP, Jack Cust batting 7th? Interesting. Maybe Bob Geren is just setting the stage for a double-switch later in the game...Heh heh.
