The answer to yesterday's game thread opening question, "Has it really been 50 games?" was ... actually, no, 49. This, however, is game 50 as by mid-week the A's will have hit the 1/3 mark in the season. Yikesaroonies.
Brett Anderson returns to the mound tonight, with an expected pitch limit of 75. Unless he's exceptionally good or bad, that figures to get him through right about 5 innings, and we'll see if Vin Mazzaro becomes the bridge between Anderson and the regular short-relief crew.
The A's are riding a 3-game winning streak on the heels of a lucky bad hop and the ability to barely outscore Miguel Cabrera. Oakland has won 6 out of its last 7 and enters play today just 0.5 game out of 1st place.
