Open Thread: Game 50 - A's vs. Tigers

Has it really been 50 games? What? No! We just started, haven't we? Wasn't it just last week that we all were in Arizona, stretching out our legs, sitting on the beautiful grass, drinking whatever it is that keeps us coming back to Friday night game threads? Has it really been 50 games?

Betcha you didn't think the A's would be one and a half games out of first, did you? Or that we'd have a perfect game on the season? See? It's already a success!

Anyway, I'm just buttering you all up before Ben Sheets takes the mound against the Tigers, a team the A's have had no luck against in their meetings at the beginning of the month. Or last season at Comerica. MLB.com tells us that the A's were swept last year by the combined score of 34-9. I'm hoping taking last night's game--and the series--has energized this team. You probably don't need to hear that they're tired; apparently the plane landed at 3am.

Hm...tired A's offense + the comeback train of Dontrelle Willis = What?

Find out next!
