Open Thread: Game 33 (Oakland Athletics at Texas Rangers)

Trevor Cahill, the ball is in your court.

Have fun out there, big man. All you have to do is follow up an outing so spectacular that the starting pitcher wound up taping a Top 10 List for David Letterman a few hours ago. No pressure or anything.

The A's are taking on the Texas Rangers tonight in a battle for the division lead, as we start a three game set. Opposing our young sinkerballer is Rangers RHP Colby Lewis. I've been told that Lewis took two years off from American baseball and was kidnapped and taken to a remote village in Japan where we was taught the fine art of pitching by Ken Watanabe. Actually, I think Tom Cruise was there too...anyway, regardless, Lewis is sporting a rather nice 3-1 record with a 3.01 ERA as he takes on Oakland for the second time this season.

Geren's lineup holds no surprises, unless the inclusion of Eric Chavez and Eric Patterson are surprises, in which case you need to pay more attention. Also, something tells me that Landon Powell has more than earned the starting job for now, at least until Kurt Suzuki returns.

First pitch is at 5:05 PM.
