Open Thread: Game 24 - A's at Jays

In the spirit of a near three-way tie for first place in the American League West, I could not decide on a clear-cut favorite quote to open tonight's thread. So I chose a trio of them:

That's baseball, and it's my game. Y' know, you take your worries to the game, and you leave 'em there. You yell like crazy for your guys. It's good for your lungs, gives you a lift, and nobody calls the cops. ~Humphrey Bogart

Baseball is not necessarily an obsessive-compulsive disorder, like washing your hands 100 times a day, but it's beginning to seem that way. We're reaching the point where you can be a truly dedicated, state-of-the-art fan or you can have a life. Take your pick. ~Thomas Boswell, Washington Post, 13 April 1990

The great thing about baseball is that there's a crisis every day. ~Gabe Paul

Yes, welcome to another afternoon of A's crisis, er, baseball. Oakland will try to stop a three-game skid- its first lengthy slide of the young season- and stay above the .500 mark as April comes to a close. The A's haven't won on the road since April 12, having lost five straight away from their lovely ballpark.

To keep his team at least tied for the top spot in the division, manager Bob Geren turns to Trevor Cahill, who makes his first big-league start of 2010. Brandon Morrow takes the hill for Toronto.

Stay healthy, my friends.
