Playoffs Thread: Rangers at Yankees (ALCS Game 5), Phillies at Giants (NLCS Game 4)

CC Sabathia and the Yankees find themselves in unfamiliar territory this afternoon; with their backs up against the wall in a playoff series that many thought they'd win. The Rangers have built a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, and the Yankees turn to their best pitcher in an effort to prevent the Rangers from going to the World Series...for the first time.

I'm squarely on the side of the Rangers for this game (and any subsequent games). They've never reached the series; the Yankees are annual visitors, and I like to mix it up in baseball. Call me crazy. C.J. Wilson will take the mound for the Rangers in what could be the clinching game.

On the other side of MLB, the Giants and the Phillies will play Game 4, with the Giants holding the slim 2-1 margin in the series. Needless to say, this is a huge game for both teams. The Giants and Matt Cain unexpectedly won yesterday's contest, shutting down the Phillies offense and earning the shutout win.  Tonight's game will feature young Madison Bumgarner against our old friend Joe Blanton. The Giants will try to keep the momentum going tonight, finally snatching the covered night playoff game slot from the Yankees. (Don't ask me why the games can't be played at 4 and 7 Pacific Time; I don't make the schedules.)

(And to add insult to injury for A's fans, the very first automatic picture that shows up for me in this thread is Gibson rounding the bases. SERIOUSLY, AN?)

Rangers/Yankees - 1:00 PM
Giants/Phillies - 4:30 PM

Let's go whomever!
