Believe it or not, your 2009 Oakland Athletics have placed themselves squarely in position for a four game sweep against the Texas Rangers if they can manage to win one more game today.
The A's have been doing everything right this week; hitting homeruns, stealing bases, playing defense, and pitching well enough to win. Trevor Cahill, who has been awful lately, but very good against Texas back in May, will try to complete the A's sweep, and finish the homestand (and Root Beer float day!) on a high note.
According to Bob Geren, Rajai Davis has been named the A's starting centerfielder, an honor that was bestowed on Raj after he tore up the basepaths this series, and almost singlehandedly led the A's to all three victories.
Davis will be batting behind Kennedy in today's lineup, and for some reason, Nomar is batting fourth. Suzuki and Hairston will both be given the day off; Powell and Sweeney will replace them.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
