After taking the first two games of this four-game series against the Rangers, the A's look to win the series tonight behind RHP Chad Reineke, who is filling in tonight for the rash-y Dallas Braden. As we learned earlier today, Eric Patterson has been sent back to AAA to open the roster spot. Reineke is 5-4 with a 4.37 ERA in Sacramento this season, and started a couple of games with the Padres last season.
He will be opposed by RHP Vincente Padilla, who is 8-5 with a 4.66 ERA with Texas this year. He is coming off two missed starts due to swine flu (I kid you not).
Jason Giambi remains on the DL, despite being ready to play, so it's anyone's guess what the A's will do next. I would think it depends on Dallas Braden's health.
