Trevor Cahill takes the mound for the A's tonight as they try to win the series at Fenway Park. Thanks to Anderson's gem on Monday night, the A's will not get swept, and do have the chance for the series win. Unfortunately, they are up against Tim Wakefield, who was absolutely maddening in a four-hit complete game against them in April.
Cahill is coming off an outing where he got absolutely roughed up by the Indians; his second poor start in a row. This was probably not the confidence-builder he wanted going up against the Red Sox for the first time in his career.
Although Cabrera is gracing the lineup with his customary #2 slot, I have to admit that the lineup does look better with the Hairston/Holliday combo 3/4. Can they hit a knuckleball? Stay tuned.
