Chapter 88: Things are looking bleak for our heroes. After watching helplessly as the ace of their staff was knocked around by the bad guys in last night's game, the offense--led by the Not-Chosen One--put a grand total of two runs on the board. The fate of the universe now rests on the shoulders of young Trevor Cahill, who was absolutely destroyed in his last start by the Indians, and looked pretty shaky in the two before that. He looks to rebound against the AL-West-leading Angels tonight in what is certain to be a fascinating battle.
Joe Saunders will try to shut down the A's lineup tonight. Saunders has been hit hard recently; giving up 18 earned runs in 14 innings, a trend that is certain to continue tonight, right?
An eyewitness from the park wants me to post the following quote:
"More dogs than people. One dog is dragging a Rally Monkey in the dirt, face down."
I'm taking it as a good sign.
